Article Indexes:

    Looking for journal articles? Start here:

    Search multiple database simultaneously by selecting the databases you want and then enter your search terms: (Alternatively you can search each database separately.)

  • Embase (OvidSP)
    indexes biomedical literature, with strengths in pharmaceutical information and the European and Japanese literature.
  • International Pharmaceutical Abstracts (OvidSP)
    relatively small database, but pharmacy-specific.
  • Medline (OvidSP)
    also broadly covers biomedical literature. The indexing data for Medline comes from the US National Library of Medicine.

  • Medline In-Process & Non-Indexed citations (OvidSP)
    covers articles that have not yet been indexed with MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) or articles that aren't indexed for various other reasons.
  • PubMed
    the US National Library of Medicine's own search engine. Broadly biomedical, includes Medline-indexed citations as well as OLDMEDLINE and in-process citations.
