  • Communication and Mass Media Complete - Full text database with a number of journals on communication and cognition such
    as Brain and Language, Cognitive Linguistics, Journal of Language and Social Psychology,and many more.
  • PsycINFO
    - The best starting oint for psychology and psychological aspects of related disciplines such as linguistics.
  • PsycBOOKS
    - Full text in PDF of scholarly books published by the American Psychological Association from 1950-2000, plus 50 archival

Corpora, Data sets, Questionnaires

  • CHILDES - Child Language Data Exhange System. Tools for studying conversational interactions, including a database
    of transcripts, programs for computer analysis of transcripts, methods for linguistic coding,and systems for linking
    transcripts to digitized audio and video.
  • MRC Psycholinguistics Database - machine usable dictionary containing 150837 words with up to 26 linguistic and
    psycholinguistic attributes for each.
  • Psycholinguistic Database - Includes two measures: the MRC Psycholinguistic Database and the Edinburgh Word
    Association Thesaurus
  • WordNet - "online lexical reference system whose design is inspired by current psycholinguistic theories of human
    lexical memory. English nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs are organized into synonym sets, each representing
    one underlying lexical concept."

Theses and Dissertations

Up to 1992 the library has paper copies of UBC theses, later theses are on microfiche. The theses are entered in the catalogue.
