Theses and Dissertations

  • UBC Library has copies of UBC Masters theses and Ph.D. Dissertations. Up to 1992 the library has paper copies, after 1992 they are on microfiche. The theses are entered in the catalogue. For recent paper copies of theses and all honours papers go to Room 2113 in AnSo.
  • We also have access to the full text of dissertations from 1997 onward in the Proquest Dissertations and Theses database (PQDT). PQDT covers more than 90% of North American doctoral dissertations plus growing international coverage. PDFs can be downloaded by UBC faculty and students free of charge.

Up to 1992 the library has paper copies of UBC theses, later theses are on microfiche. The theses are entered in the catalogue. UBC theses from 1997 on can be downloaded free of charge by students and faculty from Proquest Dissertations and Theses - Full Text .

Current Awareness Tools

Current awareness tools are used to stay up-to-date with research. Most journal publishers and databases allow you to set up email alerts or RSS Feeds to notify you when new material is published (e.g., Journal Table of Contents alerts, search alerts, citation alerts).
